Radiation Protection and the Use of Radioactive Sources in Hospitals
About the workshop
In line with the identity of King Faisal University, the College of Science is organizing an international virtual workshop in cooperation with the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, the International Atomic Agency in Vienna, and the Nuclear and Radiological Control Authority. This will be during the period 5-7 Shaban 1443 AH corresponding to 8-10 March 2022 AD. It is directed to researchers, students, technicians and all those working in the field of radiology in hospitals and centers in the Kingdom.
This workshop aims to introduce radiological protection in the field of nuclear medicine from all its scientific, technical and legal aspects at the international and local levels and is closely related to the sustainable environment.
Objectives
- Introducing the importance of radiation protection in the field of nuclear medicine at the international and local levels.
- Introducing the field of nuclear medicine, especially the use of radioactive sources in this field.
- Training and educating participants on the issue of radiation protection in hospitals that use radioactive materials from scientific, technical and legislative aspects, whether at the local or international levels.
- Strengthening the identity of King Faisal University, which is centered on environmental sustainability and community service.
